ALINX 2026 AMD ECS Embedded Computing Summit Global Tour Successfully Concludes: FPGA Connecting the World
Summit Overview
In 2026, ALINX joined forces with AMD Embedded to successfully host the ECS Embedded Computing Technology Summit worldwide, covering five key cities: Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, Munich and Silicon Valley, attracting over 2,000 industry engineers, technical architects and enterprise technology leaders. The summit focused on the latest FPGA adaptive computing deployments in 5G, industrial vision, automotive electronics, aerospace and other key fields, exploring next-generation embedded computing directions with global developers through keynote speeches, product showcases, live demos and roundtable discussions.
oHFM Standard Debuts Publicly
As a highlight of the summit, ALINX publicly unveiled the oHFM (Open Harmonized FPGA Module) standard's hardware reference design and software adaptation layer for the first time. The oHFM core module based on the AMD Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC completed multi-scenario demonstrations on site: seamlessly switching between industrial vision inspection, radar signal processing and edge AI inference algorithms on the same hardware platform, vividly demonstrating the standardization value of "one hardware design, multi-scenario reuse".
Multiple industry customers at the event noted that the oHFM standard will shorten FPGA hardware development cycles from the traditional 12-18 months to within 3 months, while reducing hardware BOM costs by 40%-60%, fundamentally solving the FPGA industry's long-standing pain points of high customization costs, poor reusability and supply chain risk.
Technical Highlights
The summit also showcased the three major technical advantages of the oHFM standard:
-
Full Hardware Compatibility
-
Unified Software Abstraction Layer
-
Autonomous and Controllable Supply Chain
Next Steps
In Q4 2026, the oHFM 1.0 specification will be officially released, opening complete reference designs to global hardware vendors, launching the oHFM compatibility certification program and driving ecosystem development. ALINX will continue as a core contributor, rolling out a full series of oHFM-standard core modules to help the industry rapidly deploy FPGA applications.
